These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Wento Travel (“Wento,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) at wentotravel.com and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using Wento, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Wento is a platform for organizing travel memories on a map: uploading photos and videos, adding places and notes, tagging people, and sharing trips with others. Features may change as we improve the product. During early access, some features (including paid plans) may be limited, in beta, or offered free of charge.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, please contact us promptly.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Wento. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of photos, videos, text, and other material you upload (“Your Content”). You grant Wento a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, display, and transmit Your Content solely to operate, improve, and provide the Service—including showing it to people you choose to share with.
You represent that you have the rights needed to upload Your Content and to share it through Wento, including permission from people identifiable in your media. Do not upload content that infringes others’ rights or violates applicable law.
4. Sharing, invites, and access levels
Wento offers several ways to share trips. You are responsible for your sharing settings and for whom you invite.
- Privacy settings — You may set a trip to Private, By invitation, or Public.
- Guest view links — Email-based, view-only access for people without a Wento account. Links may expire and can be revoked.
- Traveler invitations — Invitations for people to join on Wento with options such as mirror (read-only copy on their map), copy (independent fork), or collaborate (add photos to your trip).
Anyone you grant access may view or interact with shared content according to the permissions you give. Changing a trip to Private may revoke guest link access. Removing a traveler or revoking an invitation ends their access going forward.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
- Upload malware or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Harass, impersonate, or violate the privacy of others
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Service except as permitted by law
- Use the Service to distribute spam or unsolicited communications through our invite features
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create risk for other users or the Service.
6. Third-party services
Wento integrates with third-party services such as Google sign-in and Google Places. Your use of those features is also subject to the third party’s terms. Map data and other third-party content remain subject to the respective provider’s licenses and restrictions.
7. Subscriptions and fees
Wento offers paid plans with a = (int) (config('stripe.trial_days') ?? 14) ?>-day free trial (payment method required). Current options include:
- Wento Yearly — $59 per year, billed annually after the trial unless you cancel.
- Wento Lifetime — $179 one-time payment after the trial, with no recurring subscription.
Prices are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. You can manage or cancel a yearly subscription from your account. If you cancel, you may retain access until the end of your current billing period, and you will have at least 60 days to export your data afterward as described on our pricing page.
Accounts created during early access before paid billing launched may retain free access without a subscription. We may change plan features or pricing for new customers in the future; changes will not reduce your rights for fees already paid for the current term without notice where required by law.
8. Termination
You may stop using Wento at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including content licenses for backup retention, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your content will never be lost. You are encouraged to keep your own backups of important material.
Map locations, place information (including data from Google Places), and automated features may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for how you rely on information shown in the Service.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wento and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty euros (€50) if you have not paid us.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wento from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your sharing settings, or your violation of these Terms or others’ rights.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Wento regarding the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply. Courts in Barcelona, Spain shall have exclusive jurisdiction where permitted by law.
